multinational FTPAPI

Sender: Christian <chrisv5@xxxxxx>

I found a bug which corrupted the conversion with small buffers (hey, it completely hosed SBCS to SBCS conversions regardless of buffer size; always leading to zero size files).

Now the critter works flawlessly. One only needs to know the correct CCSIDs for the host and remote files and we're set (I am getting fairly proficient at that, too).

Guys and gals, a multinational FTPAPI appeared on the horizon! Btw, it is supposed to work down to V4R5 (have no any docs older than that, so who knows?), quite unlike the official IBM tools (FTP client, CPYTOSMTF, CPYFRMSTMF). See yourself:

http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/software/globalization/ccsid/V4R5M0mappings.html

Though keep in mind, the code is for V5R1, thus anyone who *must* have that functionality on V4R5, please back port yourself (it can be done, I just do not feel like it). Mind you, it is a C program written with RPG syntax anyway.

Why does IBM not (nicely!) port the record level, DSPF, PRTF I/O to C and through away this RPG? I mean... a language which uses 16 bit pointers for strings on a 64 bit platform is a joke!

Happily,
Christian
