SELW just means it's waiting on the select() API, which is pretty standard in any TCP/IP communication. It's perfectly normal to be sitting at SELW most of the time when HTTPAPI is running.

The call stack is unhelpful, as it is the normal call stack that should be shown any time HTTPAPI is communicating with and/or waiting for the network. It really doesn't tell us anything at all.

I agree with your original reply. He should try the current version of HTTPAPI to see if that solves the problem.

Just googling around, it sure seems like SELW is something either at the server or between the server and you causing the problem. Have you turned on the debug logs? Anything unusual in the debug logs? Strange continue codes?
