True - RPG is currently limited to handling named data items of 64K or less.
Note the word "currently" - this restriction has been known to present
problems for a while and will be fixed - possibly in the next release.
But I'm not sure why you think C is such a wonderful alternative - it is
limited to a single byte character string! To go beyond that involves
playing with pointers - which you can also do in RPG. So it would seem to
me that of the two it is RPG that is the more versatile!
