RE: HTTPAPI is returning an error message

Title: Message
Antoine,

This is not a problem with httpapi, its to do with your iSeries connection to the Internet.

There could be many reasons.

First try the PING (which you say also fails).
Here is mine:

PING RMTSYS(WWW.SCOTTKLEMENT.COM)
Verifying connection to host system WWW.SCOTTKLEMENT.COM at addre
  206.55.70.27.
PING reply 1 from 206.55.70.27 took 225 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 2 from 206.55.70.27 took 272 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 3 from 206.55.70.27 took 171 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 4 from 206.55.70.27 took 170 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 5 from 206.55.70.27 took 174 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
Round-trip (in milliseconds) min/avg/max = 170/202/272
Connection verification statistics: 5 of 5 successful (100 %).

If this fails, try Scotts IP address (see above)
This is mine:
PING RMTSYS('206.55.70.27')
Verifying connection to host system 206.55.70.27.
PING reply 1 from 206.55.70.27 took 400 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 2 from 206.55.70.27 took 175 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 3 from 206.55.70.27 took 171 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 4 from 206.55.70.27 took 173 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
PING reply 5 from 206.55.70.27 took 172 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 233.
Round-trip (in milliseconds) min/avg/max = 171/218/400
Connection verification statistics: 5 of 5 successful (100 %).

If the website address PING fails, but the IP address works, you have a DNS problem.
You can get round that by putting an entry into the host table for Scots website & its IP address. (CFGTCP option 10)

If the ping to the IP address fails, it looks like your iSeries is not connecting to the Internet.
Possible reasons are:
No connection at all
Connection goes through a proxy server that is rejecting traffic from the iSeries
No routing entries from the iSeries to your external Internet router. - (check routing entries CFGTCP option 2)
