Re: [Ftpapi] SSL GsKit EWOULDBLOCK/GSK_WOULD_BLOCK issue after applying 7.3 TR8

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your answer.

No, we still have the 1.23 version..

Because evrything was working fine until now, and we were always a little scared to update the version.

We have a lot of sensible applications that use dozens of webservices, specially with our Warehouse Management System‎.

If the latest version fix this issue, we gonna build a test strategy, and do a full backup before to update version.

To update to latest version (1.40), all we have to do is follow this process ?  https://www.scottklement.com/httpapi/httpapi_savf.html

Thanks.

Christophe

Have you installed the latest HTTPAPI?  I am pretty sure Scott has this updated at least for the GSKit.

I updated GETURI a while back for this for GSKit, but not for the standard SSL APIs since IBM alluded that they were "legacy".  :)

Hi everyone,

Since applying ptf 7.3 TR8 on our V7R3, we encounter an issue on a http_url_get command.

The 2 different errors returned in http_error are  randomly (sometimes, there is no error) :

Code:  -1 - Msg: "CommSSL_read:  read:(GSKit) An error occurred during SSL processing that was not"

OR

Code: 404 - Msg: "HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found"

Ciphers are even, on the website and on AS/400.

IBM asked us for a trace.  They said it's an EWOULDBLOCK or GSK_WOULD_BLOCK condition that creates the issue after applying 7.3 TR8,

as described in their official note https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6237392

And they say it's not an IOS defect, and that "The client application will need to be modified to handle the GSK_WOULD_BLOCK or EWOULDBLOCK advisory condition to resolve this issue"

Here are the PTF that have been installed and at the same time in the IBM note :

            PTF Group                    Level                Status
            SF99730                       20128               Installed
            SF99867                       4                      Installed
            SF99722                       24                    Installed
            SF99725                       17                    Installed

            The PTF MF99208 is installed.

I tried to add a 30 seconds timout on the http_url_get command, it did not change nothing.

Do you know about this issue and what can be made to handle the GSK_WOULD_BLOCK or EWOULDBLOCK advisory condition to resolve this issue ?

Thank you in advance for your help, and have a great day everyone!
