Probably not anything more than TLS v1.1
IBM dropped support for new ciphers on V7R1 a while ago. V6Rx... probably not going to have much luck.

If you're looking at doing any production work on your system involving server or client TCPIP communication using SSL/TLS, you have to upgrade to V7R2 or higher. No two ways about it.

I am running on V6R1 - can I get TLS v1.1 or 1.2 to work with this OS (as I am now getting rejected due to using TLS 1.0)
I am on an older version of LIBHTTP - although I am not sure if this library version has anything to do with these newer TLS errors
