Have you configured your IBM i's *SYSTEM certificate store?  That is used not only by HTTPAPI, but also many other IBM i applications for SSL.  (For example, the HTTP server, Telnet server, FTP server, etc that are included with the operating system all use this.)

If you have not done so, please create the *SYSTEM certificate store.  Instructions can be found in the README member of the QRPGLESRC file shipped with HTTPAPI.
