Hi Manuel,

The timeout on FTP_open() is remembered and used for the entire session.

Your session is blocked waiting for data from the network.  It has sent the login information and is waiting for a response from the server -- and from your description, this response is never arriving.

When I have seen problems like this in the past, they were due to firewalls blocking the network packets.  They could also be due to a routing problem or a hardware error, but this is less likely.

Now once in a while the submitted job for downloading the files get stuck and blocks following jobs.

Unfortunately the problem is not reproduceable. It happens not often but when it happens it is dumb..
