RE: Sending ZIP Files as Attachment Via Web Service

So you mean like a web server that serves up a zip file? No problem. Point your web server to the directory where the zips are kept.

If you really need a web-service look at Integrated Web Services. If the zip does not exceed 16,700,000 bytes you might be able to do it easy enough.

Any number of other products (look into the server side products like python, php, java, c#) will serve zip files as the data for web services. But HTTPAPI will not!

In any case, web service servers are best addressed on another list (http://archive.midrange.com/web400/ perhaps?)

Thomas,
How about if AS400 is provider as oppose to consumer of the service. I mean if external system is requesting for a zip file saved on IFS.

Thanks,
Gaurav

Gaurav,

I am sorry, but uploading attachments is not yet supported. Even worse I am on vacation starting next Friday. Therefore the earliest date to start enhancing WSDL2RPG is mid September. It is not that difficult to add the uploading feature, provided we restrict it to binary attachments, but it is also not a 2-hour job.

Basically I need to build a MIME file (either in the memory or the IFS), which contains a SOAP attachment and the attachments of the files that are going to be uploaded.

See the English Wikipedia for an example of the MIME format:

Regards,

Thomas.
