Hi
I don't know, if the original file comes from an S/370. I also did not
indicate, that FTPAPI does something wrong. I only need an explanation
or an idea, why the target documents result in a recordlen of 132 (the
source isn't in that length) and how to manage a target record len,
when a document is created on the fly during ftp.
Now I have to re-onvert the target from 132 to 81 ( RPG with open /
close / open / read with buflen 81 / close )

Hi,
I notice that the name of the to-file is letmvs. This wouldn't by any
chance indicate that the original file came from an old S/370 with an
MVS operating system, would it?
I can only speculate, but the fixed-length database files in OS/400 may
have some structures in common with the old file system of MVS and
therefore may confuse the DSPF/EDTF command.
Anyway, I think the message you get has more to do with DSPF/EDTF
misinterpreting something in the file than with FTPAPI doing something
wrong. Have you tried to use good windows-based editor to look into the
file? Maybe do a compare to the original?

In order to get a message like this, I would think you must be
receiving into a physical file (not a stream file, which is what most
people would consider to be an 'IFS object').
Can you explain further?
