Re: Ftpapi Digest, Vol 73, Issue 1

   Hi Scott,
I was always leaning to the Mail List. Mostly because it comes to my
   desktop.
I file every one I get to go back through if I have any problems before
I send out a new request.
I like the idea of a Web based forum.
If an email with a summary of a new post could be generated to the user
   community.
Then it is our responsibility to read the details and comment on any
   issues we can deal with.

   Hi Scott,
Until now I prefer the mailing list approach. But a forum where you can
subscribe and specify that you want to receive new entries by mail or
even a daily extract, would be a great tool too.
That said, if the mailing list is causing you problems, switch and we
   will follow :-)

   Hi folks,
I find myself wondering if, maybe, it'd be better for everyone if we
replaced this mailing list with a set of web forums. What do you think
   of this idea?
This would make it possible to divide the forum into different subject
areas, like we could have a discussion area for non-HTTPAPI web
services, a discussion area for FTPAPI, a discussion area for other
stuff I've published like IFS or HSSF/POI.
Obviously a lot of people would like to discuss other things besides
FTPAPI/HTTPAPI, and I wonder if that wouldn't be easier to manage?
Furthermore, I'm having trouble (technical problems) with this mailing
list software, and am thinking it'd be nice to replace it.
Please let me know your thoughts.
