Send a custom command to the FTP server

Is there a subprocedure that allows me to completely customize what I
send to the FTP server? As mentioned in my previous thread, I am
connecting to PubNet (EDI for publishers) (http://murl.me/1g2). I
think the "get * edi850.txt" command will work with FTP_get(), but I
am unsure which subprocedure will allow me to send 'ftp> user
"7999999@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 10259" PASSWORD'.

Unless someone gets back to me, I'll probably write my own custom
command subprocedure and send to Scott for addition to the project.
