RE: Ftpapi Digest, Vol 50, Issue 20

The file is not getting written (created) in the IFS directory unless I signoff and sign back on. Refreshing the screen does not change this.

I have a single tracking program that retrieves tracking data from UPS
and/or Fedex.
I can send you a copy of the source if you like.

With UPS and Fedex both, you can go online and register for a Test
ID/Password. Once successfully communicating with the test servers you
can
apply for a permanent ID/Password for use with their live production
servers.

It is working great now, has anyone use a version of Example16 for
FedEx?

Hi Duane,

Your log shows that EXAMPLE16 is successfully communicating with UPS's
computer. However, instead of sendign back tracking infornmation, UPS
is sending back the following (this is an excerpt from your log file):

<Error>
<ErrorSeverity>Hard</ErrorSeverity>
<ErrorCode>250003</ErrorCode>
<ErrorDescription>Invalid Access License number</ErrorDescription>
</Error>

Please understand, this is being sent from UPS's computer to yours.
It's not generated by HTTPAPI, therefore there's not much I can do.
Indeed, this only shows that HTTPAPI is successfully doing it's job of
transferring data across the Internet.

I'd double/triple check that your got your license key, userid and
password correct. If that doesn't show a problem, I'd suggest talking
to someone at UPS. Tell them their computer is complaining that your
access license number is invalid.

Hi Scott,

Starting with the release of WSDL2RPG v1.12 I received several e-mails
from users reporting a compile problem because of the missing procedures
http_dclose() and http_dmsg(). For some reasons nobody noticed "
install_instructions_v1.12.txt" that points out the need for HTTP API
v1.24beta10 or higher and that also describes how to use an older version
of HTTP API.

The idea I have is to add a procedure to HTTP API to retrieve the version
number of HTTP API. Then I and other developers could retrieve the version
number and act appropriately, e.g. display a message or set a compiler
condition.

Sample:

   version = http_getVersion()

The return value (version) might be a data structure containing the
following sub fields:

   major_version
   minor_version
   beta_number

What do you think about it?

Regards,

Thomas.

I would like to utilize the http_debug feature of the system to get an auditlog of my "transmissions" to and from a client website. However, the problem is after appending the file name with a timestamp to make it unique, the only way it shows up in the IFS each time is when I sign off between each run. Please advise.

Thanks--

I've used HTTPAPI successfully for several projects, and have always used
http_url_post_raw, received the data back in a string, translated to EBCDIC,
and processed it. I need to save the data to a file and make the file
available to another application. So, I could use http_url_post and save the
data to a file on the IFS, but then it will be in ASCII. I would then have
to translate the file contents to EBCDIC. Or, I could use http_url_post_raw,
translate to EBCDIC, and write to a file. Or...I could use the best way,
which is the one I don't know. :)

What's the best way to accomplish this? Thanks!

What do you mean "shows up in the IFS"? How are you looking for the file -
mapped drive? Need to refresh Windows Explorer. WRKLNK? Think you need to
refresh that too.
