ftpapi and diag messages

I have not bee able to figure out how to receive the diag messages that 
are in the joblog when ftp_logging()is turned on.
      *+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
      *  FTP_logging:     Turn on/off logging of session to joblog
      *+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The messages are *DIAG CPF9897 messages sent from the FTPAPIR4 service 
program, but I have not been able to receive them in the ftp program I 
have.

I have tried many combinations of the parms in the QMHRCVPM API.   Is 
that the right API?
