Nevertheless, we have been using V1.24 in production since April 09, since we needed the mods, without any trouble whatsoever.
If you need the mods, I have no hesitation in recommending it.

1.24 has not been released, and is not completed yet.

I could give you a copy of what I have on my system right now (which is 
what will eventually be 1.24) but unfortunately, I started revamping all 
of the EXAMPLE code and I've got it all torn apart with no time to work 
on it.
