RE: Cant ping address from 400 to use Httpapi example18 and example19.

Check if the 400 has a route to the internet.

Go CFGTCP option #2, you should have any entry like:

*DFTROUTE *NONE 10.10.1.x *NONE

Where 10.10.1.x is the ip address of your firewall or router to the
internet.

Subject: Cant ping address from 400 to use Httpapi example18 and example19.

Hello,

These examples use www.webservicex.net. I couldn't get either currency
convertor
or translator to work so I tried pinging the address from the as/400.
The ping
attempt was unsuccessful from the 400 so I tried pinging from my pc's
dos cmd
prompt. The dos command prompt was successful.

My network guy said the the firewall is open as far as getting to and
from webservicex.
However, he doesn't know enough about the 400 tcp config to help me any
more.

Does anyone have any help or direction on this? I'm an rpg programmer
with only
enough tcp knowledge to be (slightly) dangerous.

OS is 5.4 and httpapi ver is 1.19. Any ideas are appreciated, tia.
