RE: Running a remote command

Harry:

It depends on the FTP server on the remote system. If it's a full-function server (like the one on the i), you'll have no problem. If it's something like VSFTP (Very Secure FTP, which IMO gets its security from limited functionality), then you'll have difficulty doing anything on the remote system!

I'm pretty sure that there are examples of doing this kind of processing on the System i Network forum (and others, more than likely, as well).

Subject: Running a remote command

Is there an easy way to run a remote command once you have sent a file
using FTP_PUT? I want to do some processing with the file after I have
sent it, and was looking to see if there was some way to run a remote
command?

Thanks
Harry
