RE: HTTPAPI example1 & example2

We had the same issue with our iSeries being "locked down" to outside
requests directly. Got around the issue by creating a webservice through
Websphere which has outside access. So the client on iSeries called a
webservice which was able to make the outside call and returning back to
iSeries client.

Definitely a firewall problem. That last address is probably your
internet
address? Some kind of firewall?

Find out how to create a hole in the firewall for the address of your
IBM i
on port 80 and try again.

Good luck.

Glenn,

Try this from the IBM I command entry screen

ping 'scottklement.com'

Do you get something like this for a result?

Subject: HTTPAPI example1 & example2

Good morning group,

I'm still having trouble getting this to work.

When I run Example1, I get a 0 byte sock_tutorial.pdf file in the tmp
directory.

When I run Example2, I get a 0 byte testpost.html file in the tmp
directory and a message that reads:

DSPLY This page requires a user-id & password

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Glenn
