RE: Timeout error

Oops. Kind of mixed the questions without the appropriate answer.
Can you ping the server where the web service runs by name from your IBM i?

  - If not, did the name resolve an IP?
      -If not, fix your DNS.
  - If name resolves, but ping doesn't work
      - check from PC
        - if it doesn't work from PC, try from computer outside your network
Etc, etc, etc until you determine where the breakdown occurs. Most servers
with web services will ping, but some don't. So, just because you can't ping
doesn't mean it won't work. But pinging will help to find the trouble spot.

If not, open a hole in your firewall for the address of your IBM i on port
80.

 I have been trying to connect to a compnay to get webservices but have been

So I ran Eample18 on our AS400 machine to find out the connectivity issue.
I didn't get any log file but I still got the tme out error.
 
 
Can some body please give me guidance as to what to do?
