FTP transfer error

Hi Scott, Hi all,
today we found out, that one file we received by one of or customers got
garbled before we could process the orders they sent in it.
I have never seen something like this, we have been using ftp transfers for
years now and our i5 Systems transfer thousands of files a day.

This is what happened:

The customer uploaded the file to our ftp server with the full 1718148
byte.
Then our i5 system downloaded the file 3 minutes later with the same size.
Then the same program uploaded the just downloaded member from the i5 to a
backup folder on the ftp server.
Last the original file is deleted.


Now, the problem isn't just that the PUT uploaded a smaller (and garbled)
file, it seems that the GET had problems with writing the file to a member
since the backupfiles on the i5 are messy, too.

I don't think this was a network glitch, since the file was fully
downloaded to the i5 according to the ftp log.

These are the last lines I got:
TAN000013212200769750001002*** Auflösung

And then the rest of the file is filled with: x'0DF0ADBA' over and over.

Has anyone seen this byte sequence before or knows what happened here?

Since the error happened over a week ago I don't have the joblog of the ftp
process.
