HTTPAPI and SAP

Hello Walker,

We are in a similar situation. We are moving part of our inhouse
application to SAP (running in different partitions in the same iSeries
(or should I now say "POWER 570 running i").

We have several SAP functions that we "call" from our RPG application
(written with CA Plex).

Using SE37 you can create a service definition for a SAP function
module. Then with WSADMIN you create the Webservice in SAP and from
there the WSDL.

I then use the WSDL to create my RPG that uses HTTAPI to call the SAP
function.

Compared to direct RPC calls, the overhead is probably a bit higher, but
I think it is simpler.

Hi, Mark. I saw your note below and I am curious. We are converting to
SAP from an iSeries. In what context are you using HTTPAPI? Are you
using it to populate master data? How are you using web-services?

Thanks for any information.

Best Regards,

Hi Scott,

You know I'm amazed at the time and effort you put into supporting your
fine open source projects I 'd just like to say a big thanks for what
you do!!
BTW HTTPAPI is at the core of our SAP/Legacy interfaces and does a
perfect job!

Kind Regards
