Run your FTP in binary mode and no translations will occur.

Furthermore, if you're saving a copy (even if only temporary) to your 
AS/400, please store that temporary copy to a location in the root file 
system of your IFS.  Do not save it to a physical file or you'll almost 
certainly cause the data to change.
