Seems to be a common attitude on the iSeries that *LIBL is good, and hard-coded library is bad.

That's a good point, especially given the other messages today that included a suggestion of installing a new version to a new library.

Should I revert back to hard-coding it? Or should I write code that inserts the library during the install phase?

I imagine the complaints would be worse (and better founded) if you hard coded that one. Think of what would happen with multiple versions installed with the /COPY picking up a different version's file during compilation of a user's program.

So, if you can insert the library name during installation, that would be great. Otherwise, it only took me about two minutes to figure out why it wouldn't compile and should take far less time next time. ;)
