Re: Problems using HTTPAPI to do credit card auth. on an iSeries

Resolved it at last :-)

ProtX's simulator for reasons unknown doesn't seem to work with my post but their other test server does - I just switched URLs and Scotts superb API's did the business. Shame I've wasted a week on something so simple.
Cheers
Michael

Hi, my name's Michael Bailey from London UK and I hope you're all going to tell me I'm doing something stupid!

I've built an ecommerce website using CGIDEV2 running on a brand new 520 which sits on my network behind a router. I have a fixed WAN address with my ISP and port forward to my iSeries website and it works well so far in test mode. I'm attempting to develop the neccessary "scripts" in RPG to perform an HTTPS POST to my credit card acquirer ProtX using Scott's HTTPAPIs.

ProtX provided me with several sample scripts that work straight out of the box including JSP, PHP and ASP (no RPG though of course!). I ran the ASP version through a Windows IIS and got successful auth. back from Protx's test system so I know my network isn't a problem (the kit is here http://www.protx.com/downloads/kits/asp-direct-kit.zip in case you're interested).

I looked through the Examples and kind of guessed on which one is the closest fit and decided to use EXAMPLE4 as a base (although ProtX don't use XML). However, my program doesn't seem to work correctly - I get a response from ProtX of "VSP Simulator cannot find your vendor name" but I know I'm setting it up okay in the the "data" part of the post and it's correct when I look at the debug output for the post. As the ASP version works okay on my network ProtX aren't too concerned about my iSeries problems.

I won't attach the code, logs and debug stuff at this stage as I'm not sure what you need to diagnose the problem but if there's anybody here who could point me in the right direction based on their own experiences I would really appreciate it. I can forward anything you need to make a prognosis if you let me know.

Thanks
Michael
