Re: EXAMPLE16 Failure

Hi,

DSPLY gsk_env_open: (GSKit) SSL is not available for use Does that mean we are missing some other LPP in our system?

EXAMPLE16 connects to United Parcel Service's package tracking web service. UPS requires that SSL support be available in order to use their server.

In order to comply with that requirement, HTTPAPI uses the SSL support that's built into OS/400.

The error message 'SSL is not available for use' means that you do not have SSL support set up properly on your iSeries. Information on how to configure SSL on the iSeries (and any additional LPPs that you need to install) can be found in the Information Center.

Networking -> Networking Security -> Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

Choose "Plan for SSL Enablement" to make sure you've got all of the necessary LPPs installed.

Once you've got them installed, you'll need to use the Digital Certificate Manager to create a *SYSTEM certificate store. Information on how to do that should also be available in the Information Center, though I've only done it once, a long time ago and I don't remember the exact steps you need to take. (Maybe someone else does?)

Once that's done, you'll need to set up the SCK_HTTPAPI_UPSTRACK application ID in your Digital Certificate Manager. If you call EXAMPLE16 with an account that has sufficient authority, it'll try to install that for you.

If that doesn't work, you can set it up manually in the Digital Certificate Manager by signing into the *SYSTEM certificate store and selecting "Manage Applications"
