SFTP is not actually FTP.  It's actually an SSH protocol feature that has
a user interface that's similar to what FTP has.  The internals of it are
totally different.

FTP over SSL has been considered as a possibility for FTPAPI, however.  It
provides the same level of security that SFTP does, but uses the standard
FTP protocl over secure sockets.  Right now, all I can say is "we've
considered it".  FTPAPI does not currently support it, it's just a dream
for the future.
