ftp_append suddenly not working in put_block

I've been using Scott Klement's FTP package on our 400 for well over a year
now without any problems.
I use it because it's good at telling me what's gone wrong if an FTP
request doesn't complete.

Suddenly, after a year of sending files to one of our vendors several times
every day, it has started hanging.

The procedure I'm calling is ftp_append, and the error is occurring with
the call to 'accept' in procedure 'put_block'.

Has anyone else struck this?
